Home / Camden / Local Dining
Camden and the nearby towns of Rockport and Rockland are graced with an abundance of fine dining choices many of which are just steps away from the Lord Camden Inn. Whatever your preference, our area has just about any cuisine you might fancy. Here are a few more of our favorite restaurants we recommend you visit:
Fresh Restaurant, located in Bay View Landing, one of Camden's most scenic and vibrant waterfront neighborhoods, transforms the essence of American Mediterranean dining. Led by head chef & owner Steve Steeves and his wife Rada, the restaurant reinterprets the bounty of the surrounding area, exploring an ingredient-driven cuisine that begins in the rediscovery of fresh local products and redefines what it means to cook and eat in Maine. For reservations, call 207-236-7005.
Peter Ott's Restaurant, a mainstay of Camden Dining for many years, has recently relocated to it's new waterfront location just beneath the Grand Harbor Inn at 16 Bay View Landing. Peter Ott's offers fine American Cuisine with great steaks and seafood offerings that are fresh and local. The restaurant features an upscale bar area and two cozy gas fireplaces with stone mantles. For dinner reservations, call 207-236-4032.
Experience Rockport's newest restaurant. Located in the former Shepherd's Pie space, 18 Central Oyster Bar & Grill features a variety of different dishes, including steak, chicken, burgers and seafood entrees made with mostly Maine seafood. All the dishes except the fried chicken come off the wood-fired grill. The open concept kitchen allows diners to watch their food being prepared. The grill also has a raw bar with a daily selection of chilled seafood. 18 Central is open six days a week from 5 to 9 p.m. through Columbus Day and is closed on Wednesdays. For reservations, call 207-466-9055, or visit them at 18central.com.
Named after a sea turtle, Hoxbill is Camden's newest casual dining restaurants located right on the water in Bay View Landing. With floor to ceiling windows, Hoxbills dining room and decks overlook Camden Harbor. Enjoy delicious fresh seafood, steaks, a raw bar, and soon their own beer crafted in their on-site microbrewery. For dinner reservations, call 207-230-8713, or visit them on facebook.com for daily specials and menu updates.
In 2009, Long Grain opened its doors in the beautiful seaside town of Camden, Maine. We call our cuisine "honest food" meaning we use seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, no inconvenient truths here. Although many consider Long Grain a Thai restaurant, our dishes are inspired by many different Asian cuisines and cultures. Thai and Vietnamese street food, fare served in small eateries in Singapore and meals on dinner tables in Indonesia and Japan can all be found here. For reservations, call 207-236-9001 or visit them at longgraincamden.com.
Archer’s on the Pier is located directly on Rockland’s pristine waterfront. Come enjoy an innovative and tasty menu for lunch and dinner created with the best sustainable seafood and local produce. If you stop in on Sunday, we offer a light fare for brunch while you enjoy Jazz playing softly in the background. Sit out on our large deck and watch the windjammers drift by as you relish the fresh sea air. You will also notice the ferry that transports locals and visitors to and from Vinalhaven and North Haven from Rockland’s port. For reservations, call 207-594-2435, or visit them at archersonthepier.com.
